HELPING IN A TIME OF NEED

Specialized care

From the early days of PrimeCare Pediatrics, partners were responsible for the inpatient care of the Zanesville pediatric community.   As the pediatric community, number of premature births and newborn nursery census grew, so did the need for more specialized neonatal care.  PrimeCare partners Dr. Minnis and Dr. Miller were both interested in expanding the neonatal care in Zanesville.  They both came from extensive backgrounds in critical and neonatal care and in 1992 they established Ohio's first Level II Intensive Care Nursery (ICN)  staffed by pediatricians.  The ICN has grown in leaps and bounds since the early days and now routinely takes care of sick neonates requiring respiratory support including mechanical ventilation and surfactant administration while providing care for premature infants over 32 weeks gestation.  Their passion for and dedication to neonatal care and desire to keep pediatric patients Closer To Home is what has made neonatal care in Zanesville so successful.  But they could not have done it alone and PrimeCare would like to extend a sincere THANK YOU to the wonderful nurses throughout the years that have made pediatric and neonatal care so successful.
